Yata Watte: Low Elevation Ceylon Tea
Low Grown, upto 1,000 feet above sea level
Low-grown teas constitute the largest proportion of Ceylon tea production and also the fastest growing. These teas grow at an elevation of about up to 1,000 feet above sea level. The brew provides a very deep colour with aromas of lemon blossom, malted barley, biscuit and peat. This is a rich, full-bodied tea with a backbone of fine-grained, drying tannins. The distinct dark colour and strong taste of low grown tea is a result of extreme heat and humidity levels of the region. Yata Watte tea is pungent, robust, intense in the style of Cabernet Sauvignon. It may be enjoyed anytime, if you enjoy strong tea.
