Meda Watte: Mid Elevation Ceylon Tea

Mid Grown, at 3,000 feet above sea level

Mid grown Ceylon teas are primarily located within and around the district of Kandy, grown at about 2,000-3,000 feet above sea level. These teas are strong, full bodied, elegant and velvety on the palate, in the style of a Shiraz; best for afternoon or early evening. Mid grown teas are known for their attractive deep golden brown to bright burgundy colour. The sweet, lightly pungent and aromatic tobacco-like characters with complex roasted nut undertones are reminiscent of lightly charry barrel ferment characters found in many fine red wines.
